Lauren Harris launched her career in 2005 after being talent spotted by legendary British producer-writer-artist Russ Ballard who had no idea she was the daughter of Iron Maiden leader/founder member, Steve Harris. Following the successful studio session with Russ, Lauren assembled a live band and proceeded to play a series of shows around Florida and in the UK.
As word began to circulate across the internet, Lauren received her first big break in May 2006 when she supported rock legend , ALICE COOPER in Sheffield. Her website was deluged with new visitors and, encouraged by this initial success, the summer of 2006 saw Lauren and her band spread their wings further, playing the prestigious outdoor festival circuit throughout Europe including high profile appearances at the German Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park shows as well as the UK and Dublin Download festivals.
Following these shows, with word spreading and crowds growing, Lauren could have taken the opportunity to take a break – instead she took on her biggest challenge yet – playing stadiums across the world supporting IRON MAIDEN including such exotic places as the Budokan in Tokyo, Desert Rock Festival in Dubai and Bangalore, India where Lauren made history as the first woman to front a rock band in concert there.
Things couldn't have been moving faster for Lauren as, following a tour with THE ANSWER in early 2007, she was then approached to be main support for WITHIN TEMPTATION which was a huge success, attracting rave reviews. For the summer, once again, Lauren played some of the largest outdoor festivals in Europe alongside rock heavyweights such as HEAVEN AND HELL, KORN and STONE SOUR, including a dazzling set at the U.K. Download Festival.
A successful year was finished with UK headline shows and an appearance at the UK Hard Rock Hell Festival and a UK tour with THUNDER.
2008 is proving to be Lauren's busiest year yet with an extensive world tour supporting Iron Maiden (including her first visits to Australia and South America) and her long-awaited debut album “Calm Before The Storm”, produced by Tommy McWilliams (Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, )mixed by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Journey) is scheduled to be released in June on Demolition DR2 Records.
