Bio
So, my name is Rick, and I'm a writer. I started off freelancing for various publications such as Metal Edge, AMP, Lollipop, Maximum Ink, Chord and Thrasher in 2005. After publishing some great pieces on my favorite metal bands, I saw that music media had a void. The void that existed was for intelligent, funny and insightful coverage of heavy music from the extreme to mainstream. So I decided to found my own magazine. That magazine is called RUIN, and it's one of the best metal magazines ever. It's full color and glossy, and in Hot Topic Stores across the country. The magazine did everything that I had envisioned. It featured amazing interviews with huge artists such as KoRn, TOOL, Slipknot, Deftones, Rob Zombie and Slayer as well as pieces on more niche bands like Deicide and Gojira, as well as fan favorites like American Head Charge, Devildriver and Static-X. The magazine was widely successful and fans everywhere really dug it! In addition, I also wrote biographies for record labels, bands, producers, actors and directors. My work includes pieces for: Roadrunner Records, Nitrus Records, Metal Blade Records, Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer's Emotional Syphon Recordings, ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares, DJ Uberzone, award-winning music video director Nathan Cox and many more. I'm also an Ad Writer/Editor for Citysearch.com, during the day. So I keep busy! Now, I'm doing interviews for this awesome new site JamNow.com in addition to everything else. We have some amazing surprises in store so be prepared...
